Welcome to Tavistock Montessori Pre-school CIO website, we are a family run charity pre-school that prides ourselves in being the only Montessori Pre-school in Tavistock. The teaching staff here at Tavistock Montessori help promote a more practical way of learning with a more child-centered approach which helps children to become more independent and help them become ready for school and for life. The staff here are a well-established team that are all highly trained, qualified Montessori teachers.
The team at Tavistock Montessori consists of our Manager/Directress -Stephanie Credicott, Melanie Credicott-Administrator/Directress and Cover Staff, Haley Shaw & Helen Peacham- Pre-school Assistants.
At Tavistock Montessori we manage to combine the Early years Foundation Stage together with the Montessori curriculum this providing a rich learning through play experience for all children. Being a small team the children benefit with this as this provides continuity and consistency, enabling children and teachers to get to know each other well and form secure and strong attachments.
When it comes to the children being allocated primary school places, we at Tavistock Montessori, warmly invite Foundation teachers to visit the children to see them in a settled environment, this enables professional sharing of information to provide a smooth, informed transition from pre-school to primary school for each child.
